CLAVICLE FRACTURES

Clavicle fractures (collarbone fractures) often occur when people fall directly on their shoulder. There is immediate pain, swelling and sometimes deformity overlying the collarbone.

Treatment is determined depending on physical examination and the appearance of the x-ray.

Non-operative treatment options:

​Sling immobilization and guided early therapy

Operative treatment options:

​Plate fixation of the clavicle
