TRIGGER FINGER RELEASE

During a trigger finger release surgery, the tunnel that surrounds the inflammed tendon of your finger is released. This procedure is usually done wide awake with local anesthetic and a tourniquet.


Typically a 1-2 cm incision is made at the base of the finger and the tunnel is is cut. The two tendons of the finger are then examined and cleaned off. 

The procedure takes about 10 minutes and is closed with 2-3 sutures. A soft dressing is placed and can be removed after 3 days. Keep your wound dry until your follow up.
